As a fast-casual, fusion powerhouse, we’re on a mission to share the world, with the world. There’s no need to buy a handful of one-way tickets to the great cities of the globe when you can taste and combine so many flavors and aromas all under one roof. Taking disparate culinary traditions and combining them in new and exciting ways, we offer new dishes in familiar, and not-so-familiar, formats. It can be surprising to see how flavors and ingredients, usually separated by so much distance, pair so effortlessly and pleasingly.

So even if you’ve never heard of gochujang or goma dare, there’s nothing stopping you from trying new flavors with something more familiar, like pulled pork and corn tortillas.

Flavor knows no borders

It used to be only by trade, immigration and conquest that cultures diffused their unique gifts. In the globalized world we inhabit, it is primarily through the ebb and flow of social trends that tastes change and evolve.

We believe that the American market has gained a taste for numerous foreign cuisines, so much so that it’s ready to see them (and more) all under one roof. From Chinese fermented cabbage and Mexican cacti, to Japanese sesame and Korean hot red pepper sauces, Flame opens the floodgates to flavor from regions unexplored.

Flame wants to introduce the vast world of flavors and ingredients that are out there with as many curious tongues as possible. From Africa and the Middle East, to Japan and Mexico, we are globe trotters bringing the wonderful tastes of climes and cultures separated by geography and weaving them into a new and dynamic culinary tapestry for all to partake.

We test out new ingredients with seasonal specials, which may or may not become full-time staples in our kitchen. By having a menu that’s dynamic and democratic, diners will themselves become part of Flame’s story and its mission grow and deepen the increasingly open-minded American palate.

Flame aims to offer a creative synthesis of a variety of culinary traditions from every corner of the globe. We believe that flavor is universal, and that just like people, disparate culinary traditions compliment each other in exciting and unexpected ways.

Here are a few of our favorite combinations:

  1. Japanese yakitori chicken on a bed of Chinese mustard greens, topped with a spicy Korean gochujang sauce and wrapped in a whole grain Indian roti flatbread.

  2. Ethiopian roasted lamb layered onto Russian sautéed mushrooms, drizzled with a Greek tzatziki sauce and encased in a Mexican white corn tortilla.

  3. Hunan roasted pull pork married with Mexican nopales cactus, paired with a Japanese goma dare sesame sauce over a bed of Indian basmati rice.
